North Andover to Somerville, MA Move 5/24

On Friday, May 24th, two movers arrived at the Casey Movers office early in the morning. The two men, Brian and Donald, were scheduled to move a customer from her 2 bedroom apartment in North Andover (North Andover Movers) to a new house in Somerville.
The customer, Tracey, heard of Casey Movers from one of her friends. After hearing such good things about the company, she called the Casey Movers office at 1-800-482-8828 to book a move. Tracey received her estimate over the phone and sent in her deposit for the move the same day. Once we collected her deposit, we were able to confirm her move on the date she desired.
The two movers arrived at Tracey's apartment at 9:00 in the morning, right on time. They didn't waste any time getting started - they introduced themselves to the customer, went over the paperwork with her and then began to load up the truck.

The movers, Brian and Donald, wrapped up each piece of furniture before loading it into the truck. They used heavy duty moving blankets and pads to keep the furniture in pristine condition during the move. Then they organized the items in the truck so they would be secure while driving to the customer's new house in Somerville.
For Tracey's full size and two twin size mattresses, the movers brought plastic mattress bags. They fit each mattress in it's own bag then sealed it shut with many layers of tape, protecting it from any kind of dirt or filth while being moved. They added another layer of pads on top for extra protection.

Brian adding a layer of pads to the mattress.
After the truck was loaded up with all of the customer's belongings, the movers hopped back in the truck and headed to the customer's new house in Somerville.
Once they arrived, they got right to work. Brian and Donald unloaded every item into the house, then began to move each piece into the room that the customer requested. The movers even arranged the furniture in each room to the customer's liking.

After everything was in order and the customer, Tracey, was completely satisfied, the move was complete. Brian and Donald gathered the moving blankets to fold and pile back into the truck and collected all their tools.

While they were packing up their things, the customer was filling out the Casey Movers Customer Comments and the Angie's List Review. She had excellent things to say about both the movers and the company. It was another move well done!

Hanover to Scituate, MA Move 5/23

On Thursday, May 23rd, four movers arrived at the Casey Movers office early in the morning. They were scheduled to move a couple, Steve and Diane, to their new home in Scituate, MA (Scituate Movers). Casey Movers had already loaded up the customer's home in Hanover (Hanover Movers) on a previous day, and had held it in the trailer until the couple was ready to move into their new house.

Steve and Diane had first heard of Casey Movers from a postcard they received from our company in the mail. The couple's realtor, Michelle Lanyard from William Raveis Realty, had good things to say about Casey Movers as well.

The four movers drove the already loaded truck out to Scituate, arriving right on time. They didn't waste any time getting started - they introduced themselves to the customers, went over the second part of the paperwork and then started unloading.

The Casey Movers truck in front of the customer's house.
The customer's driveway was long and narrow, so the tractor trailer could not fit. The movers knew this in advance from the estimator, so they brought a smaller truck to shuttle all the belongings and furniture up the driveway to the new house.
The four movers worked as a team to load up the smaller truck, drive it up the driveway, unload the truck and then do it again and again in a reasonable amount of time. Each item in the truck was wrapped in heavy duty moving blankets, so everything arrived safe and sound.

The four movers, Matt, Tim, Scott and Jorge, worked non-stop until the entire trailer was empty. Once every item was inside the new home, they started arranging the belongings in each room and organizing everything just the way the customers wanted.

Scott, a happy mover :)
After the movers had completed arranging the customer's home, they took Steve and Diane for a final walk through to make sure everything was in order. The couple had no complaints and were completely satisfied.
The four movers geared up to leave once they got the okay from the customers. They packed up all their tools and gathered up all the moving blankets and pads to fold and stack back up in the truck.

Milford, MA to Palm Coast, FL Move 5/22

On Wednesday, May 22nd, two movers arrived at the Casey Movers office early in the morning. They were scheduled to load up a customer's 2 bedroom home in Milford, MA and have the tractor trailer ready to be driven to a town called Palm Coast in the state of Florida.

The customers, Dave and Rosemary, found out about Casey Movers from the Yellow Pages. After calling our office at 1-800-482-8828, the couple learned that Casey Movers performs out of state moves on a regular basis. We have moved people all over the United States - from Massachusetts to California, Washington, Florida and numerous other states.

The two movers, Jorge and Kevin, arrived at the customer's Milford home right on time. They arrived in the Casey Movers uniform- navy blue collared shirts with black pants, looking very professional. The two movers began right away, they introduced themselves to the customers, went over the paperwork with them and then began to load up the trailer.

Jorge in his uniform, working hard.
Since the customer's load was being driven all the way down to Florida, the movers took extra precaution when loading up the furniture and the rest of the belongings. The men wrapped each piece of furniture with heavy duty moving blankets and pads, and even added another layer of shrink wrap or even cardboard from boxes for extra protection.

The two movers also brought plastic mattress bags from the Casey Movers office for the customer's two queen size mattresses. With a mattress bag, the bed stays nice and clean from all the elements during the move.

The inside of the trailer, halfway loaded!
The two movers packed up the truck nice and neat, to the standards of the company and the customers. Since the load gets packed tightly, nothing moves around or slides out of place during the drive down to Florida, so the customer's load arrives in pristine condition. That way the move continues smoothly and everyone is happy!

The movers took a "household goods descriptive inventory" while they were loading each item into the truck. Writing an inventory helps the customer in addition to the company because it keeps a detailed description of each item so everything can be accounted for. The movers added every belonging to the inventory list, from a bicycle to the entertainment center to the customer's office chairs. After the inventory was complete, the movers had Dave and Rosemary read it over to make sure they agreed to the information stated before signing it, making it a valid document.

The two movers, Jorge and Kevin, worked vigorously the whole day, and showed excellent teamwork during the job making Dave and Rosemary very happy customers.

When the tractor trailer was all loaded up and ready to go, Jorge and Kevin took the customers on one last walk through of their Milford home just to be certain that all the items that were going to Florida were already in the trailer. The customers felt that everything was in order and the load up was complete.

Quincy to Milton, MA Move 5/15

On Wednesday, May 15th, two movers arrived at the Casey Movers headquarters early in the morning. The two men were scheduled to move a couple from their one bedroom apartment on the first floor of a complex to their new house in Milton, MA.
Donald loading up the truck nice and neat.
This move is the third time this couple has moved with us. The couple, Thomas and Elizabeth, liked Casey Movers so much that they decided to go with us again.
The two movers, Donald and Craig, arrived at the customer's apartment in Quincy (Quincy Movers) right on time. They didn't waste any time getting started - they both introduced themselves to the customer, went over the paperwork with them and began to load up the truck.

Donald and Craig brought four wardrobes for the customers to pack up their clothes. Wardrobe boxes make it easy to transfer clothes because of the metal bar that sits on top of the box, used for hanging all the clothes of the customer without getting any of the items wrinkled or dirty during the move.

The movers also brought a plastic mattress bag to cover the customer's queen size bed so keep it nice and clean in the truck during the move.

Donald, being the crew leader of the team, made sure that both Craig and himself were staying in the time frame the estimator had predicted. Once the men were done with the load up, they hopped into the truck and headed straight for the customer's new home in Milton.

Once Donald and Craig arrived at the customer's new home in Milton, they started unloading right away. They carried each item into the house and arranged the furniture in each room just the way Thomas and Elizabeth wanted it.

Packing essentials and moving home - How to make your relocation easier

Packing an essentials box before moving home is something that can be easily overlooked in the stress of moving day, but can make a world of difference when it comes to unpacking and getting settled in your new home. Below are some tips on what to put in your essentials box, and how having one handy can make your relocation easier.

What is an essentials box?
The purpose here is to pack a box or case with everything that you might take for an overnight stay in a hotel or if going on holiday. The idea is that once you have arrived at your new home, you can unpack this box first, and take some time to enjoy your new surroundings while taking a break and getting refreshed before tackling the unpacking.

Essential kitchenware
Ideally, youll want to pack everything you need for a basic bit of cooking and eating. This will probably include a frying pan, a pot (for pasta or rice), a set of cutlery for everyone and some plates and bowls. Food wise, try including anything that is fairly quick and easy to cook. Pasta and rice is always useful, along with any canned goods that arent too bulky. Some bread, milk and tea will be very useful too, so you can have a hot drink once youve arrived. Having all this prepared also saves you money on the inevitable first night take away costs that you might incur otherwise!

Essential clothing
You wont need too much here, simply take some sleepwear, a comfortable set of tracksuit bottoms or jeans that you dont mind getting a bit grimy when you unpack, and a change of clothes for the next day. This way you can get changed after the hard work of unloading the van and feel refreshed. By having a change of clothes for the next day too, you dont have to worry about getting the unpacking done the same day you move in.

Essential Toiletries
Once again, simply pack everything you need for an overnight stay. Things such as toothbrushes and toothpaste, and any other products you need to use on a daily basis. You might also want to bring a few towels along and some soap or shower gel, so you can take a well deserved shower after unloading, and have everything you need accessible for the next morning.

Other essentials
It can also be useful to bring along things like a laptop or two if you have already organised your internet connection at your new property, plus things to do while travelling, such as books etc. If you are moving with children, then let them choose a few of their favourite toys they can bring along too, as this can avoid them getting bored or rooting through boxes for something to do once youve arrived. If youre bringing pets, then bring some bedding and a few toys for them too, so they can get settled once youve unpacked.

Finally, remember to pack your essentials box last. It should also be the first thing you unpack. Once youve arrived, you can have a cup of tea and something to eat, and then start thinking about unpacking everything else. You might prefer to simply bring this along with you if youre travelling by car or van, so you have it handy if anyone needs a snack or so on during the journey.

Moving home with pets and children

Moving home is stressful enough as an adult, but for your children and pets it can often be a much more intense experience. Generally, children are quite resistant to sudden change, and the same can be said of most domestic animals too. There are a few things you can do, however, to make sure that your move has minimal negative impact on your family, and even create a positive experience for children especially.

Preparing for the move

Its best to inform your children you are moving home as soon as possible. The sooner they are aware of the fact and the more time they will have to come to terms with the idea. It can also be a good idea to bring your children with you to see your new home before you move in. This will give them a sense of what to expect, and you could even let them choose their room and so on, giving them something to look forward to.

For your pets, its a good idea to get them checked out at your local vets to make sure they are healthy before the move. Also, if they are not used to car travel, you can try taking them with you on a run to the shops or if you have other quick errands. This will acclimatise them to travel slowly, if they are not used to it, and make moving day a bit less stressful for them.

Get your children involved

While of course, most of the hard work should be dealt with by the adults, there are other ways that you can get your children involved. The range of options largely depends on what age they are. If you have young children, then you can ask them about helping you out with ideas for decoration or where to put furniture, especially in their own rooms. This help them feel involved in the relocation process and not only get used to the idea of moving but hopefully create something for them to look forward to as well.

For older or teenage children, moving home may not be as much of an upheaval, but it can still be worth getting them involved. Older children might be able to help you with the packing and organising, as well as clearing out old things from the house, and so on.

Either way, do your best to make sure that your children feel part of the process, and make sure you answer any questions they might have about moving home. They might not all come at once, so make sure you are able to give your children the time to make them feel comfortable with moving. Keep an eye out for any changes in behaviour, as these can be signs of stress. If your child is not sleeping well, or changes their behaviour drastically, then they may be concerned about the move. Make it clear that they can talk to you about it at anytime, and consult your doctor for additional advice if necessary.

Pets and moving day

Most pets wont like being cooped up in a travel cage for long, and even if you have acclimatised them to it somewhat as suggested above, it can be a good idea to make sure they have a favourite toy or something that smells familiar with them. Ideally, try to travel with your pets. They wont take up much space in the car, so you can easily take them yourself. Constantly reassuring them vocally can be helpful to keep them at ease when travelling, and if you have children travelling with you, keep the pets close to them so they both have some company for the journey.

Rockland Storage to Dedham, MA Move 5/10

On Friday, May 10th, five movers arrived at the Casey Movers office early in the morning. The movers were scheduled to drive a large 18 wheeler out to the customer's house in Dedham. They knew ahead of time that the tractor trailer would not fit up the very long driveway, so they were to use a smaller truck to shuttle the items from the 18 wheeler up to the house.
The customer, Jen, had originally heard of Casey Movers from online research. Jen used Lisa Curlett from Pinnacle Realty to move out of her old house and Meg Cabot from Prudential Realty as her realtor for her new home.
Back in October of 2012, Casey Movers had packed, loaded and moved Jen's things into our storage facility in Rockland (Rockland, MA Movers) for a total of 6 months. Now that the 6 months is up, we are moving her back out of storage and into her new home in Dedham.

Once the five movers, Matt, Bob, Jorge F, Tim and Danny, had finished loading up all of the customer's belongings out of storage (Rockland Movers), they hopped right into the truck and headed for Dedham.   The need to move dictates you start your planning well ahead of time, as soon as a moving date is apparent. There are a great number of moving companies around the world that focus on specialized services that suit as large a demographic as possible. Companies of that sort also sell or rent suitable accessories and tools that help the moving process, such as dollies and furniture pads. You should make your reservations well ahead of time so you can obtain a moving vehicle and contract.

You will need to pack the right way if you want to protect your belongings from damage. You could buy wardrobe boxes, which are very useful because of their large size, providing an excellent way to keep your clothes clean, unwrinkled and safe from harm. You can also bubble wrap dishes and other fragile items. Alternately, you can use packing peanuts or newspapers for cheaper alternatives if you don't have any available on hand. There are also special boxes being sold for books, electronics and other lighter, yet fragile items. You should remember to label all your boxes with a list of their contents and which room they are supposed to be left in. This will significantly cut down on the unloading times at the final destination.

Hiring a professional company to deal with the packing and moving is preferable to doing it yourself, since they will provide the experience and manpower needed to get the job done with ease. At the same time such companies will also give you an insurance that covers the weight of your items, but not their complete value. If you want more out of it you will have to either contact your own insurance company or try to work out a better plan from the one the moving company works with. You should review all the documentation provided be the movers to ensure everything is in order. They must take not of any damages on your belongings prior to the move so there will be no misunderstandings. You will not be allowed to move valuables and important documents which cannot be replaced, so these should go with you in your own personal vehicle or on yourself.

A move to a different state means you will most likely get a chance to do a road trip of sorts between the location of your old home and the new one. You should take advantage of the time you will spend on the road, taking breaks and seeing the sights if possible. Check rest stops on the map, towns and cities and consider locations where you might want to stop. You will need to stretch every so often, as there is hardly anything more annoying during long hours of driving than being unable to move.

If you are traveling by air instead, you should make sure you reserve a ticket and that all your needs will be taken care of well before you arrive at your destination. This includes sleep, food and more, so plan accordingly.

Norwell to Norwell, MA Move 5/10

On Friday, May 10th, three movers arrived at the Casey Movers headquarters early in the morning. They were scheduled to move a customer from her 2 bedroom home in Norwell (Norwell MA Movers) to a new home just across town.
The customer, Claudia, first heard of Casey Movers from online research,
where we have our main website: www.caseymovers.com,
our facebook page: www.facebook.com/caseymovers,
The movers arrived at the customer's Norwell home right on time. They wasted no time getting started. The movers introduced themselves to the customers, went over the paperwork and began to load up the truck.

The three movers, Jai, Scott and Ronnie, took very good care of all of the customer's belongings. They used plenty of heavy duty moving blankets to wrap each piece of furniture in, and double wrapped some of the items with shrink wrap for extra security. They used more blankets to cover the customer's beds to keep them nice and clean during the move.
They made sure everything was packed nice and tight into the truck so everything would get to the customer's new home in the same condition it started in.

Once the movers completed the load up, they hopped right back in the truck and headed across town to the customer's new home.
Once they arrived, they got right back to work. They unloaded each item out of the truck carefully but quickly and brought it into the customer's new home. They placed each item exactly where the customer wanted it, so that the house was all ready to be lived in after the movers left.

Once everything in the truck was unloaded and everything in the house was arranged just the way the customer wanted it, the move was complete. They customer, Claudia, was very pleased with how the move went and how the movers performed. She had excellent things to say in the Casey Movers Customer Comments and in the Angie's List Review.
